Infants & Toddlers (birth to 35 months)

  1. Family members are motivated to do well.
  2. Family models engagement in learning and work.
  3. Child has access to stimulating activities.
  4. Parent(s) enjoys learning.
  5. Child is ready to daily.

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5)

  1. Parent(s) and other adults model an expectation that others will do things well.
  2. Parent(s) models engagement in learning and work.
  3. Child has access to stimulating activities.
  4. Parent(s) and other adults enjoy learning.
  5. Child is read to daily.

Elementary-Age Children (ages 6-11)

  1. Child is motivated to do well in school.
  2. Child is attentive and engaged in learning.
  3. Child does homework when assigned.
  4. Child cares about her or his school.
  5. Child reads alone and with adults.

Teenagers (ages 12-18)

  1. Teenager is motivated to do well in school.
  2. Teenager is actively engaged in learning.
  3. Teenager does homework every school day.
  4. Teenager cares about his or her school.
  5. Teenager reads for pleasure.
