Infants & Toddlers (birth to 35 months)

  1. Parent(s) practices good planning and decision making.
  2. Parent(s) interacts with others in positive ways.
  3. Parent(s) is comfortable with diverse people.
  4. Parent(s) models resistance skills.
  5. Parent(s) models peaceful conflict resolution.

Preschoolers (ages 3 to 5)

  1. Child makes simple choices and decisions.
  2. Child interacts well with other children and adults.
  3. Child is exposed to different cultures.
  4. Child is taught to avoid dangerous situations.
  5. Child is taught how to deal nonviolently with challenges and frustrations.

Elementary-Age Children (ages 6-11)

  1. Child develops simple planning and decision-making skills.
  2. Child interacts well with other children and adults.
  3. Child is comfortable with people from different cultures.
  4. Child learns how to resist negative pressure from others.
  5. Child attempts to solve conflicts nonviolently.

Teenagers (ages 12-18)

  1. Teenager has planning and decision-making skills.
  2. Teenager has empathy, sensitivity, and friendship skills.
  3. Teenager gets along with people from different cultures.
  4. Teenager resists negative pressure from others.
  5. Teenager resolves conflicts peacefully.
